I’m glad that you enjoyed the article, especially since it is completely outside of your country and currency.

Your comments on healthcare are interesting, as the US system is infamous for making people go broke. I don’t know if I should count myself healthy, lucky, or prepared (maybe a combo of all three?), but I have definitely avoided a financial train wreck in this area.

If you have been following US political discussions at all, higher education is starting to get the same bad rap as healthcare, with $1.5 trillion in outstanding student loans.

My own take is that, while many people are struggling with student loans, there is no student loan crisis in a national sense. However, I have begun to lean towards the many European models of free college with higher taxes.
