I recently read Thinking in Systems by Donella Meadows, who worked on the original Limits of Growth Study. The feedback loops she describes are beyond the grasp of most everyone in the climate change conversation, including myself.

I oftentimes get caught up in looking at just one aspect or focusing on one tipping point, and forget that once a certain threshold is crossed, there will be a cascade of failures from which there is no return for centuries or millennia, if ever.
