Mary, thanks so much for the feedback. It's a tough decision to make, especially when you focus on the fear of the pension system (even a state-run system) might go bankrupt.

I think the odds of that happening are very low. Indiana is only 67% funded for their current calculated pension mandate, but I've got a few years for them to catch up.

The biggest reason why I am keeping with the pension is exactly what you said...it will meet our monthly obligations for the rest of our lives. Especially when the kids are grown up, the house is paid off, and our expenses (outside of health care) are low.
