We’ve all heard the axiom, “The only constant is constant change.” Yet how many of us long for a time when we just don’t do anything new?
We get fed up with the changes in our relationships, our jobs, even ourselves as time marches on, and all of a sudden going back and forth to an unchanging grind at work or home can seem downright pleasant.
No change to evaluate. Nothing new to learn. Just doing what we know we can do well to eke out a living.
I’m sure the pandemic has only increased the number of people who would agree with this goal. The mental bandwidth required to discern fact from fiction this past year has fatigued us all, with many throwing up our hands in defeat.
While it can be exhausting to keep up with an ever changing world, it presents a vast opportunity to advance; in our careers, in our personal development, in our spirituality, in our marriages.
